The Beast lives!

Not really our Beast.
Ours has been around
the block a few more times! :)

Yesterday we left church... or tried to, but the truck (Beast) wouldn't start.

{"Beast" isn't a derrogatory nick-name... It's a '95 Ford Explorer. Two tone, only because the tailgate was from a different vehicle and the truck was never repainted. It's a tough, big beast. It's a wonderful vehicle. :) }

Three guys from church (including one of the pastors) and my husband were all under the hood. Turns out the fuel pump wasn't working. However, the upside was that they all felt if we fixed the fuel pump (for about $500), the truck would last another year. We totally thought it would fail inspection, and we were going to have to use our tax return to get another vehicle. Not having to buy a new vehicle would be wonderful!!

We arranged today to have the truck towed to a garage to have the fuel pump replaced and an inspection done. When the tow truck driver got there, he said Fords have a switch that turns off the fuel system in the case of an accident. As the trucks get older, the switch gets sensitive and a bump can wiggle it off. Sure enough, he reset the switch, and the truck started. The Beast lives!

Thank you, faithful Jesus! Not only do we not have to buy another vehicle this year, but we don't have to pay $500 for a new fuel pump!
