Grace Raber is 18 years old and full of dreams for her future. Nine years later, the widow Grace Beiler moves with her son, Abel, for a fresh start. Will she ever be happy again after being completely sheltered by Silas for so long? And who will take care of her and Abel when her leg is badly broken from a fallen rock wall?

I enjoy the simplicity of Amish novels. There is a slower pace and a clear showing of God's love. This book is no exception. Ms Long incorporates the struggle of mothering a child with Autism, brain injury, and developmental delays as she unfolds her story. She also shows those threads of God's grace throughout a story of a life seemingly destroyed by a marriage without love. She shows through this story that God works all things for the good of those who love Him. If you enjoy an Amish love story, this should be on your list to read.
